For those of you who didn't know, Father Dominic Ciriaco has joined St. Mary's as the new pastor. He replaces Father Bob, who was a great supporter of the Young Adult Ministry program. Father Dominic is also very supportive, and has helped arrange some fantastic speakers for our fall rotation of Theology on Tap.
Our next Young Adult project is Breakfast with Santa on December 17th. All young adults are invited to help Santa when he visits the good boys and girls here in Dumont. Contact Brian (yam@stmarysdumont.org) to see how you can help.
Young Adult Ministry is open to men & women in their 20's and 30's. If you haven't been to one of our meetings in awhile, why not come and bring a friend? Please pass this on to any friends who you think might be interested in finding out more about how God fits into their life. Sometimes, all it takes is a word or two to touch a life. Questions? Call Brian at 201-385-2859 or email yam@stmarysdumont.org.
What is Young Adult Ministry? Young Adult Ministry is an effort by the Catholic Church to meet the social & spiritual needs of young adults. Not that anyone should fall into a particular category, but as an example - the needs of high school youth differ from the needs of those who are in college. Young Adult Ministry is the church's response to those differences. So who is a young adult? Generally, anyone who is married or single, in their 20's & 30's. Here at St. Mary's, Young Adult Ministry (Yam for short) meets monthly. Our get-togethers can be for social purposes or discussion of current events or theological question/answer sessions. We occasionally invite guest speakers who address topics relevant to young Catholics. You are invited to get more from your faith, even if its been awhile since you've considered just what your Catholic faith means in your life! Your faith needs to be nourished to survive and grow. One of the challenges of faith is to live it - to be a more "christian" Christian - to live life to the fullest and understand what it means to have a full life. We hope to help you on this quest. The Youth & Young Adult Ministry Center was renovated by our young adults and was dedicated on in 2004. You can see photos of the dedication and the before & after here.
Directions to St. Mary's are here. We hope you can join us and you're always welcome to bring a friend. If you have any questions, complaints, suggestions or criticisms or just wanna chat, contact yam@stmarysdumont.org or call 201-385-2859.
