January 2008
There are three Theology on Tap's scheduled in Bergen County during January. TAP is an open forum discussion after a presentation by a guest speaker. All three will be held at On the Border in Paramus (next to the Garden State Plaza) and like all Young Adult events, are geared for single or married men & women in their 20s & 30s.

Try to join us for this great opportunity to participate in discussions that relate to your life and God. Each TAP begins at 7:30 p.m.

  • On January 16th, Fr. Edward Beck, the author of Soul Provider – will explore Spirituality.
  • On January 23rd, Sean McDonald will explore The 5 Obstacles of Evangelization.
  • And on January 30th, Brian Hyland will challenge us all with Tapping Into Reality. Is God Real?
There is no cover charge. Seating is first come, first served. The topics for all of the TAPs to be held in the Archdiocese of Newark in January are posted here.

Young Adult Ministry is open to men & women from college age through their 20's and 30's. If you haven't been to one of our meetings in awhile, why not come and bring a friend?

What is Young Adult Ministry?
Young Adult Ministry is an effort by the Catholic Church to meet the social & spiritual needs of young adults. Not that anyone should fall into a particular category, but as an example - the needs of high school youth differ from the needs of those who are in college. Young Adult Ministry is the church's response to those differences.

Alright - so who is a young adult? Generally, anyone who is married or single, from college age through their 20's & 30's.

Here at St. Mary's, Young Adult Ministry (Yam for short) meets monthly. Our get-togethers can be for social purposes or discussion of current events or theological question/answer sessions. We occasionally invite guest speakers who address topics relevant to young Catholics.

You are invited to get more from your faith, even if its been awhile since you've considered just what your Catholic faith means in your life! Your faith needs to be nourished to survive and grow. One of the challenges of faith is to live it - to be a more "christian" Christian - to live life to the fullest and understand what it means to have a full life. We hope to help you on this quest.

The YAM core team, comprised of the Coordinator and several of our young adults - your peers - has been meeting since September 2002 planning events to meet your needs. We have decided to meet on Friday evenings for now but this is something that can change. All of our meeting dates and discussion ftopics will be listed here.

The new Youth & Young Adult Ministry Center was dedicated on Sunday April 18th, 2004. You can see photos of the dedication and the before & after here.
