Rev. Theodore A. Szelest

1921-2007

Fr. Theodore Szelest passed away on Wednesday August 29th at about 4:30 AM while at Englewood Hospital. Fr. Szelest gave his life faithfully to the Church and to St. Mary's for more than 60 years. We pray that he now stands around the altar on high with the Lord and all who have served so faithfully.

SZELEST, Reverend Theodore A. on August 29, 2007. Beloved son of the late John and the late Sophie (nee Stefano- wicz). Devoted brother of the late Stella Krawiez, the late Stanley, the late Fred and the late Edward Szelest. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and his Parish Family of St. Mary's.

Father Szelest graduated from Seton Hall Prep, Immaculate Conception Seminary, Seton Hall University and was ordained May 31, 1947 and assigned to St. Mary's on June 14, 1947. The Vigil Mass will be celebrated Friday, 7:30 PM and the Funeral Mass, Saturday, 10:30 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Dumont. Entombment, St. Mary of the Lake Mausoleum, Lakewood.

The Family will receive friends, Thursday, 5-9 PM and Friday, 3-5 and 7-9 PM at St. Mary's and request that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to St. Mary's Youth Group.
