Father Szelest
Fr. Theodore Szelest passed away on Wednesday August 29th at about 4:30 AM while at Englewood Hospital. We pray that he now stands around the altar on high with the Lord and all who have served so faithfully.

On Thursday September 13th, we gathered as a community to remember and celebrate Fr. Szelest and his 60+ years ministering here at St. Mary's, his home. You can view an online remembrance of the events here.

Serving in Iraq
We want to ask the prayers of our parish for those serving in Iraq, especially if they are members of St. Mary's or relatives of our parishioners. They are:

Christopher Iacobino - John Hans - Michael Whitford
Michael Bianco - Matthew Pareti - Alicia Newball
Edward Bryan Frago - Angelica Peji - Michael Bonno
Joshua M LaBazzetta - James R. Melady - Robert Dellner
Walter F. Fawcett - Jason Shanley - Michael Cote
Andrew Rippe - David Christopher Pierson
Christopher Lynch - Zane Campbell - Danny Hilsdorf
Kyle Zownir

These names will continue to appear so that we may continue to lift their names to the Lord, asking for His protection over them. If you have a relative serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, please call the rectory so that we can add his/her name and offer our prayers.

Mission Statement
We the Roman Catholic Community of St. Mary's, Dumont, celebrate with Our Lady of the Assumption, our life in Christ. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, annointed at our Baptism and united in the Eucharist, we answer God's call to discipleship. We do this by proclaiming God's word, gathering to praise and thank the Lord, being a welcoming community and serving the needs of all God's people. We strive to live the Gospel message, as we share God's love with all people. We recognize and find strength in our diversity as we rejoice in our unity as the Body of Christ.
